The Narrative Gap Audit

Two weeks. A written view of where your story has fallen behind your company, and what to say instead.

What it is

A short, focused review of how your company describes itself in public: your website, LinkedIn page, bio and pitch materials. I read them as a potential client would: someone who might want to work with you but can’t tell, on the first read, what you do. Then I compare that with what you tell me about the business today, and write down the gap.

What I review

  • Your website’s key pages.
  • Your company and founder LinkedIn pages.
  • Founder bios.
  • Pitch materials, such as your deck and one-pagers.

What it isn’t

It isn’t a rebrand, a logo or visual identity project, or an ongoing retainer. Rewritten website copy isn’t part of the audit. If you want help with that afterwards, we scope it separately.

What you get

Your current positioning statement

The one you say out loud, written clearly and checked against how your company appears in public.

A two-page future-state document

The story your company should tell from where it is now: what to say, what to drop, and what to change first.

How it works

  1. Days 1 to 3

Intake. You send your materials and we talk for about 45 minutes.

  2. Days 4 to 10

Reading and writing. I review everything as a potential client and write the first draft.

  3. Days 11 to 14

Review and handover. You react to the draft, and I finalize both documents.

Questions founders ask

What do you need from me?

Links to your website and LinkedIn pages, your bio, any pitch materials, and about 45 minutes of your time.

Will you rewrite my website?

Not as part of the audit. You’ll leave knowing what it should say and what to change first. If you want help writing it, we can scope that separately.

Who sees my materials?

Only me. Anything you send that isn’t already public stays private.

How is this different from a rebrand?

A rebrand changes how you look. This looks at what you say. Many companies need the second before the first.

What happens after?

You can use the documents yourself, share them with your team or your designer, or ask me to scope what comes next.
